(Visakhapatnam, ) ,The launch of the “Auto Drivers’ Service” scheme was held in Gajuwaka today in an unusually symbolic manner. State Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao participated.

The event, held at the local Sri Krishnadevaraya Kalyana Mandapam, was attended by a large number of auto union members,

He addressed the difficulties faced by auto drivers and their families. “The result of that appeal is visible today. The Chief Minister has sanctioned an annual financial assistance of ₹15,000 to each auto driver under the newly launched scheme, which was first announced at the ‘Super Six – Super Hit’ rally in Anantapur. This is not just a welfare measure, but a historic decision that reflects the deep humanitarianism of the TDP,” said state TDP president Palla Srinivasa Rao.

According to official figures, the government has allocated ₹435.35 crore to extend this benefit to 2,90,234 drivers across Andhra Pradesh, including 2.64 lakh auto drivers, 20,072 taxi drivers and 6,400 maxi cab drivers. In Gajuwaka alone, around 12,000 families are expected to get financial relief from this scheme.

Sri Srinivasa Rao opined that the scheme was not part of the coalition’s election manifesto but was introduced with genuine concern for the working class. “On behalf of the people of the state, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for this move,” he said.

The current coalition government has taken a bold step to restore dignity and stability to their lives. “This is not just financial assistance – it is the beginning of a welfare term for the auto drivers community,” he said.

Vowing the coalition’s continued commitment to the working class, he said that as long as this government is in power, no worker or daily wage earner family will be left in despair. ‘Auto drivers’ service schemes are a testament to the coalition’s firm commitment to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s visionary people-centric governance,’ Srinivas Rao said.
