Eight youths drowned in the Godavari river in Konaseema Mummidivaram village of East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh this evening, the police said.
According to the information received, the boys from the village of Kakinada sayrilanka village were going to attend a private function in Kamini village of Mummidivaram mandal, on the way from Sayrilanka to K. Gangavaram, have accidentally drowned in the Godavari river. The details of those who drowned are:
1, Sabbathi Kranthi Manu Var,(19) (Kakinada), 2, Sabbathi Pal,(18 ) (Kaki Nada), 3, Tatipudi Nitish (18 ) (Kaki Nada)4. Elamarthi Sai (18 ) (Kaki Nada)5. Rohit (Mandapet) 6 Pampe Mahesh, 14 years (Sarylanka ) 7. Paadi Rajesh (Sri Lanka) 8. Vaddi Mahesh 14 years
(Sayri Lanka) are from Sri Lanka. Search operations are underway.
These search operations are being supervised by District Collector R Mahesh Kumar, District Superintendent of Police B Krishna Rao, Additional SP Prasad, RDOs D Akhila K Madhavi and Revenue staff.

He expressed concern over the disappearance of eight youths who went missing after taking a bath in the Godavari. CM Chandrababu spoke to the district collector over the phone about the incident.
The collector explained to the CM about the search operations being carried out for the missing youths. He ordered all possible steps to rescue the missing ones. The CM suggested that the affected family members be informed from time to time.CM chandrababu instructed to District offices.
