AMARAVATI – Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has made it clear that fishermen will be given a share in the development of the coastal area. The CM revealed that all kinds of steps are being taken for the welfare of fishermen.. to improve their living standards.

During the fishing ban, 1,30,796 fishermen families were provided with financial assistance of Rs. 261.50 crore. Financial assistance of Rs. 20 thousand was provided to each fisherman family under the Fishermen’s Service program.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had lunch at the house of a fisherman family in Tumma penta, Kavali mandal, Nellore district. He bought fish himself in the market…went to the house of a local fisherman and cooked it for them.  They sat down and ate with them like a family member.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited the Kavali constituency of Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district on Tuesday. After participating in the ‘Mathyakar Sevalo’ program organized in Tummala
penta village of Kavali mandal, he visited the local fish market and spoke to the fishermen.

Development will happen when ports come to the coastal area. Fishermen should also participate in the development taking place in the coastal area. We will make plans so that fishermen can take advantage of the development. The Sagar Defense Organization is being established in Kavali area.

Through this, locals will get employment and jobs. We are constructing Juvvaladinne Fishing Harbor with Rs. 288 crore. We are preparing plans to make Juvvaladinne Fishing Harbor a center to strengthen fishermen economically. He said.

Andhra Pradesh is the leader in fish production in the country.  For this to continue… more facilities should be provided to fishermen… they should be supported. The government is taking all kinds of steps in that direction.

The state’s reservoirs and ponds are full of water. Take up fish farming there. We have given the rights to sell that fishery wealth to the fishermen themselves. We have directed the Fisheries Department to provide fish seed in water bodies across the state.

On this occasion, the CM launched a program to train women fishermen to cultivate seaweed in the coastal area. With the help of the Central Public Sector Undertaking CSMCRI, training will be provided to fish women to cultivate seaweed so that they can earn additional income.

The state government is working to provide infrastructure facilities along with training women in coastal areas to cultivate seaweed in the sea. To this end, the state government has issued orders sanctioning funds for the training of women fishermen.

The Chief Minister directed that satellite images be used for patrolling to prevent the intrusion of fishing boats from other states.  Officials demonstrated a technological system for patrolling and issuing warnings through drones before the CM.
