AMARAVATI: The Governor has expressed his hope that the graduating students will become responsible citizens of the society and contribute to the development of the country. The Governor expressed his hope that the university will become a leading educational institution in the country in the future.
State Governor & Chancellor Hon. Abdul Nazeer participated in the 16th and 17th convocation ceremonies of Adikavi Nannayya University at Rajanagaram near Rajahmundry today.
Stating that goal, hard work and perseverance are the way to success, he advised the students to set high goals in their lives and work hard to achieve them. Quoting Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, he gave the message to the students, “If you want to shine like a sun, first burn like a sun.”
Explaining the changes brought about in higher education through the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020), he said that aspects like multidisciplinary education, digital development, and research promotion are useful for students.
He suggested that the youth should play a key role in achieving the 50% gross enrollment target by 2035. He also called on students to be partners in the development of the country in achieving the goal of “Viksit Bharat @2047”.
Nannayya’s importance of literary values Referring to the Mahabharata written by the first Telugu poet Nannayya, he suggested practicing values like controlling anger and living a righteous life without paying attention to insults.
He said that education should not only provide knowledge, but also need to develop values like independent thinking, analytical vision, and empathy. Referring to the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” in Indian culture, he called for seeing the world as one family.

A total of 45 gold medals and PhD degrees were awarded to meritorious students by the Governor at the convocation. A total of 722 students from the academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24 were eligible for the degrees.
