A central team has inspected the development of a modern zoo park in a new format, allowing visitors to view animals in their natural habitat, in the 250-acre forest area of Divan Cheruvu in Rajanagaram, Andhra Pradesh.

MP Daggubati Purandeswari stated that a zoo park will be established in Rajanagaram to attract nature lovers and tourists.
On Wednesday, a central team from Delhi, led by MP Daggubati Purandeswari, inspected the forest land in Divan Cheruvu, located in the Rajanagaram mandal.
She stated that the proposal has received a positive response at the central government level and that an action plan will be formulated soon after examining its feasibility.
On this occasion, she said that a field study was conducted along with the members of the central team who came to examine the geographical conditions of the area, the forest area, and environmental suitability.
She stated that this region is suitable in all respects for the development of eco-tourism.
She said that currently there is approximately 311 hectares of reserve forest area in Rajanagaram, and there is a possibility of utilizing 250 hectares of land for the zoo park.
MP Daggubati explained that when this proposal was brought to the attention of the Union Minister for Environment and Forests, Bhupender Yadav, he responded positively and sent a team led by Officer Ben to Rajanagaram to examine its feasibility.
She stated that after an on-site inspection, the team confirmed that this location is suitable for setting up a zoo. She added that the zoo will be developed using a new approach, allowing visitors to observe the animals and birds in their natural habitat, rather than in captivity.

During this visit, Rajanagaram MLA Bathula Balaramakrishna, Central Zoo Authority Member Secretary Dr. V. Clement Ben, Inspector General of Wildlife, Project Elephant, Forest Protection, Research and Training Ajay from the CZA, DFO Rajamahendravaram B. Prabhakara Rao, State Silviculturist R. Srinivas, FRO David Raju, Padmavathi, Deputy Range Officer Latha, FBO Rangarao, and other officials from the Forest Department and other departments participated.
