He said that the state’s goal is to get one crore people involved in yoga programmes this year. He said that yoga should become a habit and a daily practice in every household and it should evolve into a powerful movement to build a healthy Andhra Pradesh.

Yoga Andhra 2026 will be celebrated with a grandeur of 25,000 participants on the Krishna River Western Bypass Bridge in Amaravati. He said that efforts are being made to integrate yoga in educational institutions to build a healthy and strong generation for the future.

He said that yoga is an invaluable gift from India to the world and it stands as one of the most effective solutions to combat the growing challenges like stress, anxiety and lifestyle-related health disorders. “Yoga is a holistic health practice that promotes physical fitness, mental peace and spiritual growth,” he said.

The Chief Minister specifically mentioned the tremendous success of last year’s Yoga Andhra programme, which brought national and international recognition to Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister said that special themes have been formulated district-wise to promote participation of different sections of the society. Programmes will be organized with specific groups like police personnel in NTR district and farmers in Konaseema district.

Yoga programmes will be held in each district headquarters. In addition to this, the government will organize special yoga sessions at 56 prominent tourist spots across the state to promote yoga tourism. Historical and spiritual places like Undavalli Caves and Srisailam will be the venues for yoga programmes. Thus, they will combine well-being and tourism promotion.

The Chief Minister said that improving public health outcomes across the state is a long-term goal and yoga is an important part of the Swarna Andhra 2047 Vision. The main objectives include encouraging one crore people to practice yoga regularly throughout the year.

To support these efforts, the state government has allocated a separate budget of Rs. 10 crore for Yoga Andhra 2026, covering infrastructure, publicity and event management at the district and local levels.

The Chief Minister stressed that yoga should not be limited to annual celebrations. The Chief Minister said that the government is taking guidance from wellness expert Dr. Mantena Satyanarayana Raju to strengthen Yoga Andhra 2026.

To facilitate wider dissemination, over 168 educational yoga videos have been developed. Citizens can get yoga content by sending a “Hi” message to WhatsApp number 81424 04888. The Chief Minister appealed to social media influencers, television channels and cable networks to voluntarily support the yoga awareness programme.

He said that special efforts are being made to promote yoga among women, youth and students. He added that the government is working to integrate yoga in educational institutions to inculcate healthy habits from an early age. “If children are introduced to yoga at an early age, we can build a healthy, strong generation for the future,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister launched the ‘Yoga Andhra Portal’, which will serve as a central platform for registrations, programme schedules, training videos and other information related to Yoga Andhra 2026. The portal can be accessed at yogandhra.ap.gov.in.

Several renowned spiritual and health institutions and personalities like Art of Living, Isha Foundation, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Brahma Kumaris, Baba Ramdev, Dr. Mantena Satyanarayana Raju and Prakriti Ashram are supporting the programme.
