Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu paid tribute to Sir Arthur Cotton at the Amaravati Secretariat by participating in the death anniversary program.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that  Sir Arthur Cotton was a great man who worked for the construction of the Dhavaleswaram dam, canals in both Godavari districts, and the Krishna dam with his foresight in Andhra Pradesh.

During the five-year rule of the previous Jagan, the Sir Arthur cotton is suffering due to the destruction of the Polavaram project and the irrigation department.

Along with the destroyed Polavaram project, Chandrababu has put the irrigation sector in the groove. With the inspiration of the cotton magnate, Chandrababu designed the Polavaram-Banakacherla link project so that the flood waters of Godavari do not go wastefully into the sea.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is working towards linking rivers and making the state drought-free. We will complete the Polavaram project and provide irrigation and drinking water to both North Andhra and Rayalaseema.

After the coalition government comes to power, we will allocate Rs 700 crore for the maintenance of crop canals and sewer drains in the state and provide irrigation water properly. Said Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu.
