AMARAVATI : Andhra Pradesh Alluri Sitarama Raju district was shaken in the middle of the night.
Mild tremors in the Paderu agency and border areas have caused panic among the people of the tribal areas.
People who were fast asleep, not knowing what was going to happen due to the tremors, ran out into the streets with their lives in their hands.
At 11:31 pm on Saturday, the earth shook for a few seconds in several mandals of Alluri district.
The impact of the tremors was mainly felt in Paderu, Araku Valley, Hukumpet and Pedabayalu mandals.
There were also reports of tremors in the Andhra-Odisha border areas.
People were worried as the tremors caused furniture to fall in many houses.
Locals say the tremors lasted for about 3 to 5 seconds.
