In view of the famous “Sri Gangamma Thalli” festival, which is scheduled to be held on January 25th and 26th, 2026, in East Street of Eluru city, District SP K. Pratap Siva Kishore, IPS, instructed the concerned police officers to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the devotees. Today, he inspected the arrangements on the ground and gave directions to the officials. He suggested that strong queue lines be set up to prevent stampedes, as there is a possibility of heavy crowds on the concluding days of the festival. The District SP said that care should be taken to ensure that the elderly, women, and children do not face any difficulties.

Pratap Siva Kishore instructed the traffic department officials to take precautionary traffic diversion measures during the goddess’s procession to prevent traffic disruptions for the general public in the city. He requested the concerned police officers to coordinate with the festival committee members and officials from the Revenue, Municipal, and Medical and Health departments. He specifically mentioned that emergency medical camps and drinking water facilities should be provided for the devotees.

He clearly instructed the officials to deploy police in plain clothes to prevent any anti-social activities under the guise of the festival and to maintain continuous surveillance through drone cameras and CCTV cameras. The Superintendent of Police requested the festival committee members and devotees to extend their full cooperation to the police. He expressed his hope that they would follow the rules, maintain discipline, and have a joyful celebration while visiting the goddess. On this occasion, the District SP also inspected the areas in South Street where the Gangamma festival is being held.

The District SP was accompanied by Eluru DSP D. Shravan Kumar, SB Inspector Malleswara Rao, Eluru 1 Town Inspector Satyanarayana, SI Sudhakar, and other police personnel.
