The AP government is preparing to launch on Sankranthi is a major festival another crucial scheme, the Anna Canteens, is being prepared for further expansion.

The AP government has decided to launch 70 new Anna Canteens in rural areas. These will be made available between January 13 and 15. Construction work is already underway, and everything will be completed by then. All these new Anna Canteens will be operational by Sankranthi.

These will be set up in mandal and constituency centers to benefit the rural population. Until now, Anna Canteens were operating only in urban areas; these are being established with the intention of making them available to rural people as well. This decision was taken based on requests from MLAs to set them up in villages. With this, delicious meals will be available to rural people for just Rs. 5.

Delicious meals three times a day
Through the Anna Canteens, breakfast, lunch, and dinner facilities are being provided for just Rs. 5. So far, 205 Anna Canteens are providing services to the public across the state. So far, more than 7.20 crore people have had meals through these initiatives.

More people are eating lunch than breakfast or dinner. The canteens in major cities like Vijayawada, Guntur, and Visakhapatnam are particularly crowded. Many people come to these cities for work, and daily wage laborers travel to the cities for employment. This explains the high volume of people at these canteens.
