Gold Shekhar alias Kandukuri Veerashekharachary, who has been a key player in the cricket betting mafia in Narasaraopet, Andhra Pradesh for the past few years, has finally been caught by the police. He was arrested near Mahanandi in Nandyal district with the cunning of the Two Town police.

The police revealed that Gold Shekhar, who started as an ordinary gold appraiser, later assumed the avatar of a cricket bookie and conducted transactions worth crores of rupees. The investigation revealed that he made a huge amount of money by committing fraud in the name of cricket betting and trading.

The police said that several cricket betting cases, POCSO and NDPS cases have already been registered against Gold Shekhar. It was recently revealed that he will be arrested as a key accused in the Rs 1.44 crore fraud case and will be produced in court. The Two Town police clarified that some other accused in this case are absconding and they will also be arrested soon.
