This Monday will go down as a black day in the history of the Indian judiciary. A lawyer tried to directly attack CJI Gavai while the Supreme Court bench was hearing the case. He threw a sandal on him.
It is not clear why the lawyer tried to attack the Chief Justice recently. Recently, there were allegations that CJI Gavai.. had insulted Hinduism.
There was a campaign where he had commented that he should ask God about a case. He also gave an explanation for it. He clarified that he had not insulted any religion. Some sources say that the lawyer attacked because he had insulted Sanatan. But, the police are investigating if there is any other reason internally.
Shocked by what the lawyer was doing, the other lawyers tried to stop him. This incident created a sensation in the Supreme Court. Today. CJI Gavai declared that there is nothing to fear from such incidents.
The name of the lawyer who attacked CJI Gavai has been identified as Rakesh Kishore. The police say that the lawyer can be arrested and a contempt case can be registered for insulting the dignity of the court. The CJI ordered that such incidents should not be paid any attention to.. and that the court’s activities should continue as usual. With that, the activities in the Supreme Court continued as usual..
