The welfare of workers and the development of steel plants are the main objectives of the Kutami government. It is not right for the Left parties to criticize the state government, which is supporting the steel plant while receiving funds from the Center. This is a conspiracy with the YSRCP. The Left parties are misleading the people with Chandrababu Naidu’s comments, said Andhra Pradesh TDP President Palla Srinivas Rao.

Srinivas Rao strongly condemns the comments made by Chandrababu on the steel plant at the CII conference and the comments made by the Left parties that are misleading the people and workers.

Srinivasa Rao advised the Left parties not to spread false propaganda against the coalition government, which is running a steel plant that is receiving crores of rupees from the Centre for the development of a steel plant that is at a loss for the welfare of workers.

Their attempt to create confusion among the people, damage investor confidence and stall the revival of the state’s industrial ecosystem is not only unfortunate but also a sign of their habitual obstructionism.

However, the facts speak for themselves: Shri Naidu’s leadership has helped in taking the most decisive and historic step towards steel plant revival in recent years.

The crucial decision taken by the Union Ministry of Heavy Industries – converting pending power dues of ₹2,400 crore into equity – has provided immediate financial relief to the ailing plant.  With the Centre and the State working together, a revival package of ₹9,500 crore has already been deposited in the accounts of RINL, adding significant strength to the steelmaker’s rehabilitation efforts.

The resumption of the third blast furnace has further increased production capacity, marking a clear turning point for the plant.

However, while these steps have laid the foundation for a sustainable revival, YSRCP leaders and CITU activists continue to deliberately propagate lies with the sole intention of misleading the public. Their repeated claim that the plant “cannot function without captive mines” does not stand on any factual basis.

Technical assessments have already made it clear that mines with 40% FE content are not commercially viable for production and that 15,000 MT daily production is required to reach break-even levels.  But such facts are not visible to the YSRCP,

Sri Naidu’s remarks at the summit, when viewed in their entirety, reflect a pragmatic and forward-looking approach to securing the plant, said Srinivas Rao.
