Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu suggested that focus should be placed on identifying the sectors that will offer opportunities for the future of the youth and on enhancing their skills in those sectors.
He held a meeting with advisors on Aerospace-Defense and IT-Digital Transformation on Friday.

Senior officials of the Drone Corporation participated in this meeting. The Chief Minister approved the proposals to establish a large research center in the state, centered in Tirupati.

The CM gave the green Signal for the establishment of the research center in Tirupati under the name AP Futuristic Innovation and Research in Science and Technology – AP FIRST.

The government is formulating plans to develop the state in all sectors. Companies are also coming forward to invest in various sectors. Sectors such as Aerospace, Defense, Space Technology, AI-Cyber Security, Semiconductor Devices-Sensors, Quantum Technology, Healthcare, Biotechnology, Green Energy, and Rural Area Technology will be crucial in the future.

The state government is also formulating policies accordingly and encouraging companies to invest in these sectors. For the first time in the country, we are going to establish a green ammonia plant in Kakinada in the green energy sector. The state needs to become a platform for such new innovations and various startup companies.

These require a very large research center from the state government. The AP-FIRST system, which is going to be established in Tirupati, should fully function to meet these needs and support the youth of the state.

AP-FIRST is going to be established in Tirupati as a combination of two prominent national educational institutions, IIT and IISER. It should be developed into a highly prestigious institution. Consultations should also be held with the central government to effectively manage the AP-FIRST system, said CM Chandrababu.

AP-FIRST should coordinate with universities and companies that hold prominent positions in various sectors. Students in various government and private universities are already making new innovations. Continuous consultations should be held with industries and companies to enhance the skills of the youth in various fields.

Similarly, the Telugu states are at the forefront of the pharma sector because they recognized the future potential in this field. In the same way, today’s youth should embrace future sectors. The state government is preparing plans for this.

The Drone Corporation should be further strengthened. It should be ensured that it provides services to the people. There is a need to increase the use of drones in agriculture, medical emergencies, and other areas.

These are all future technologies, but we need to be prepared for them from now on. By the next International Drone Day, the state government’s efforts in demonstrating how services can be provided through drones should be showcased to the public in a visually compelling manner. Conduct in-depth studies on aspects such as drone taxis and drone ambulances.

Consult with the central government and examine the feasibility of establishing a drone traffic control management system similar to the air traffic control management system, the Chief Minister instructed.

The review meeting was attended by Aerospace and Defence Advisor Satish Reddy, IT and Digital Transformation Advisor Amit Dugar, Tirupati IIT Director KN Satyanarayana, Professor Senthil Kumar, DMTI Director Colonel PS Reddy, and other senior officials from various departments.
