Urmila, wife of retired IPS officer and former CBI Joint Director VV Lakshminarayana, has fallen victim to a cyber fraud.  Con artists, who promised 500% profits on stock market investments, brutally cheated her.

Details:
Between December 24, 2025, and January 5, she invested a total of Rs. 2.58 crore in 19 installments. For this investment, she took loans against her own gold as well as her husband’s gold.

Upon realizing that they had been cheated, she filed a complaint with the Hyderabad police on the 6th of this month.

When contacted about this, JD Lakshminarayana confirmed that the police investigation is underway. People should be vigilant against such cyber attacks and investment frauds. Do not trust strangers who promise high returns. People need to be aware of this.
