Authorities in Rajahmundry(Andhra Pradesh) , with the help of police and staff, have recived land worth Rs 11 crore from Bharat Motor Parcel Service, which was defaulting on payment of lease money due to the government endowment department.

Bharat Motor Parcel Service Company, which took the land belonging to the Endowment Department Land in the heart of Rajahmundry city on lease in 1995, has not paid the lease money till today. Therefore, the land area is 2346 square yards, out of which 1171 square yards is a godown, worth 11 crores, under the supervision of the Endowment Department officials, all the land has been received through the court with the help of the police.
Among those who helped in acquiring the land were female Grade One Executive Officers R Lakshmibai (Kotilingeswara Swamy Temple), V. Sri Krishna Devi (Chanda Choultry) and 21 Eos , and Staff of the department.
According to the history of the Land
the oil traders of Rajahmundry town came together in 1916 to provide food and clothing to passers-by and established the Sri Lakshmi Narayana Annadana Samaj
The area of this society is 2346 square yards, out of which 1171 square yards were used for building a godown and the oil traders’ association leased it to Bharat Motor Parcel Service, and it continued to do so even after it was acquired by the Endowment Department. Due to the payment of lease money, as per the court orders, O.A.No.367/2017 was filed to vacate as there was an outstanding amount of about Rs.55 lakhs.
On that, the Endowment Tribunal on date.02-2-2023 ordered Bharat Motor Parcel Service to pay a monthly rent of Rs.75,000/- till it pays the due amount, vacates and hands over the premises.
Bharat Motor Parcel Service continued to disobey the orders of the Tribunal and did not pay the outstanding rent.
Therefore, as per the orders of the Tribunal, Bharat Motor Parcel Service, in the presence of the police, Revenue Department and Endowment Department staff, the Endowment Department took possession of the vacant land including the godown worth about Rs.11 crores and handed it over to the government.
