On January 26, 2026, Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh hosted the 77th Republic Day celebrations with great splendor. Other significant events also took place in districts such as Rajamahendravaram and Vijayawada.
For the first time, the official ceremony was held at the celebrations parade ground in Amaravati, the state capital. Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer unfurled the national flag. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and others participated in the event amidst a grand parade and festivities.
In other districts of Andhra Pradesh, an extraordinary event took place in Rajamahendravaram, where a 25,000-foot-long national flag was unfurled at a university campus. A massive rally involving thousands of students showcased patriotic fervor.
In Vijayawada, the district-level celebrations were held for the first time at the IGMC Stadium. Continuing their traditional role in state events, organizations such as the BJP AP headquarters also organized programs.
Districts traditionally held local parades and cultural programs with great pomp under the supervision of the local District Collector and Superintendent of Police.

However, the event held in Amaravati, the AP State Capital, stood out as the most prominent across the state. This enthusiastic event saw the participation of school students, teachers, various political leaders, district officials, local educational institutions, and others in large numbers. Farmers were given special honor as the chief guests.
