Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the 11th International Yoga Day organized in Visakhapatnam was a super hit and it was possible only with the cooperation of the people. He said that when the enthusiasts were called to come to the place to do yoga at 6 am, they reached the venue from 2 am. He said that along with nature’s cooperation in organizing the program, Varunadev also showed mercy.

It was revealed that 3,03,654 people came to the place where they wanted to do yoga with QR codes. He explained that more than 3 lakh people did yoga at a single venue and 22,122 tribal students did Surya Namaskar for 108 minutes, creating two Guinness records and creating history.

After the International Yoga Day program, he reviewed the organization of the program with ministers and officials at the Visakhapatnam Collectorate. Chief Minister Chandrababu spoke at a media conference later.

2.45 crore people have registered to participate in Yoga Day. We wanted to give certificates to 20 lakh people, but up to 1.80 lakh are getting certificates. Even if people are not aware of yoga or think that there is no benefit, they do not come to the program. They started coming from 2 am because they think that yoga is useful. The efforts made by Prime Minister Modi for ten years have borne fruit.

Yoga is practiced in 170 countries. Today, in one day, 10 crore people participated in yoga in 12 lakh places around the world. Yoga is not for some. It is for everyone. Prime Minister Modi has brought the concept that yoga is necessary for everyone,’ CM Chandrababu praised.

The CM praised all the ministers for working hard to make the Yoga Day a success. ”The authorities, including the Visakhapatnam District Collector, made arrangements with determination so that even the slightest trouble does not arise.

Yesterday, when we called them to participate in yoga, they came from 2 am. Considering the circumstances of that day, they refused to do it on Diwali. Today, when we requested them to come for Yoga Day, they came.’ CM Chandrababu expressed his happiness.

The Chief Minister said that he wholeheartedly congratulated the tribal students who performed Surya Namaskar for 108 minutes collectively and set a Guinness record.

We have undertaken 26 theme-based yoga programs in 26 districts across the state. We organized 101 places to do yoga in 100 tourist places. If we want to do yoga in Surat, we have done yoga with 1.47 lakh people and achieved a Guinness record… Today, we organized Yoga Day with over 3 lakh people. Yoga was practiced in 1.30 lakh places in the state. A total of 2.17 crore people participated. 1.44 lakh yoga instructors have been trained.

The Centre has also sent 5 lakh T-shirts and 5 lakh mats to the state to promote it. I congratulate the media representatives for promoting the good program through newspapers and media for 30 days.

We will bring the Visakhapatnam Declaration as the inspiration of Yoga Day. Yoga will be a game changer. We are spending Rs. 18 thousand crores on the health department this year from the state budget. We are spending more than Rs. 5 thousand crores on NTR health and medical services,’ the CM said.

If everyone in the society is healthy, the government will not need to spend much on public health. We will take action to promote yoga. If people get used to organic food, there will be no need to go to the hospital,’ the Chief Minister explained.

He clarified that development is being decentralised in the state so that it is equal for all regions. ”Large-scale industries are coming to Visakhapatnam. Google, Cognizant and TCS companies are also coming. We are also setting up industries in Rayalaseema.  We have announced that we will give additional incentives to those who invest in remote areas. Visakhapatnam has a great future. We will form an economic corridor along with the joint Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts. Visakhapatnam will be made like another Mumbai.

Now, there will be cabinet and SIPB meetings every 15 days. We have signed agreements for investments of Rs. 10 lakh crore. Through this, there is a possibility of getting jobs for 5 lakh people. We will provide 20 lakh jobs as per the promise given to the youth,’ CM Chandrababu clarified.
