AMARAVATI: 31 people were made to work where 8 people were supposed to work. We will tighten the rules to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future , Said Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who visited the victims of the Vetlapalem explosion at Kakinada GGH, spoke to the media .
The failure of the owners to follow safety regulations was the reason for the explosion at the Vetlapalem fireworks manufacturing unit, said the Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
He said that due to fairs and festivals, laborers were employed beyond the limit. He said that it is outrageous that 31 people are being made to work where 8 people are allowed to work. He said that the rules will be tightened further to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
20 people died and 9 were injured in an accident at a fireworks manufacturing unit at Vetlapalem in Samarlakota mandal. This is a very tragic incident. The owners are not following the regulations as per the permissions they have taken. The management should be held responsible for such incidents.

In this incident, the families of the deceased are being given a compensation of Rs. 20 lakh each. The government will bear the entire cost of treatment of the injured. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, he said.
