The employees’ unions of the State Information Department have strongly condemned the physical attack on Srinivas  an Information and Public Relations (I&PR) officer of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, by degree college students of a local corporate educational institution in Rajamundry. They have appealed to take strict legal action against the students who attacked them.

The officials and employees of the State Information Department have strongly condemned the incident in which Andhra Pradesh State Government Information Department (Amalapuram) officer CH. Srinivas was attacked and injured by degree students of a prominent corporate educational institution in Rajahmundry.

The leaders of the association have appealed to the East Godavari and Konaseema Collectors to take strict legal action against the degree students who attacked them. According to the information of the victim Ch. Srinivas, on the 6th of this month, while he was traveling in an RTC Pallivelugu bus in Kovvur, the students of this degree college were also in the same bus. .

Srinivas was trying to get off the stage where he was supposed to go, but students was obstructing him, and in the ensuing scuffle, the students behaved like rowdies and assaulted Srinivas, and injuring him, and later damaged his cell phone, Srinivas said.

The six students of this college said that it was a heinous act to physically attack him and injure him. We are deeply saddened and outraged by this incident. This incident reminds us of the need to provide protection to government employees.

The leaders of the association appealed to the collectors and the police department to immediately respond to this incident and conduct an investigation, take strict action against the students who attacked them, and ensure that such incidents do not happen again in the future.
