Describing Lord Venkateswara, the Kaliyuga deity and the beloved deity of Andhra Pradesh, as a living symbol of the devotion of lakhs of Hindus, Sri Palla Srinivasa Rao said that every rupee deposited in the temple hundi represents the tears and faith of devotees.

He said that misusing or politicizing such gifts is tantamount to blasphemy. Srinivas said that although previous Chief Ministers contributed to the development of Tirumala, during the YSRCP rule, they deliberately tarnished its sanctity and not progress.

On this occasion, Palla Srinivasa Rao launched a scathing attack on former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of repeatedly invoking the holy name of Tirumala Sri Venkateswara to advance political lies.

Referring to the Parakamani case, he said that it is an example of what happens when people facing theft charges are given control over sacred institutions.

Palla alleged that even devotees’ prasads were misused during the previous regime. He said that the theft of Rs 11 crore remained theft in the eyes of the law; defending the culprit is an even bigger crime, he said.

Speaking about the adulterated ghee scam in Tirumala, he described it as a grave sin committed under the guise of corruption. Sri Palla alleged that Andhra Pradesh had become a drug corridor under the YSRCP rule, with marijuana cultivation booming and illicit liquor spreading like a public health crisis. He said that organised crime has seriously damaged the national image of the state.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh have worked hard to systematically restore the credibility of the state of Andhra Pradesh. They have worked hard to rebuild the AP brand that can attract global investments, he said.

The state government’s flagship Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting 3.0, held in 45,000 government, aided and unaided schools, has emerged as an important platform to strengthen student learning and parental involvement, said i Palla srinivasarao
