Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav will inaugurate a two-day national conference on blood collection and utilization in Visakhapatnam from tomorrow to strengthen blood banks across the state and ensure safe blood supply in rural areas.

Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society Blood Transfusion Services Department will organize a two-day national conference on “Blood Collection-Utilization” in Visakhapatnam from Tuesday.
Experts will discuss key issues such as using precious blood when needed, adopting safe practices in the use of blood and blood products, enhancing blood collection capacity, improving the quality of blood transfusion services through training programs, and promoting the participation of youth and women in this direction with the goal of 100% voluntary blood donation.
AP SAX has formulated a plan to strengthen the State Blood Transfusion Council (STBC), organize camps in every district on blood donation to create awareness among the youth, especially women, and encourage them to come forward to donate blood, organize voluntary blood donation camps, procure modern testing equipment, upgrade blood centers with refrigeration facilities, and remove misconceptions about blood donation, especially among women.
AP SAX, which has strengthened blood banks across the state, is working to provide safe blood in urban and rural areas.

The program will be attended by Saurabh Gaur, Secretary, Department of Health, Dr. Sunita Sharma, Director General of Health Services, Central Government, Dr. Megha Praveen Khobragade, Deputy Director General, National Blood Transfusion Council, Dr. Krishan Kumar, Director, WHO India Country Office, Dr. Madhur Gupta, and Dr. K.
