AMARAVATI: Polavaram project, a key project of great importance to Andhra Pradesh, is being built with quality standards, Chandrababu Naidu’s ambition is to complete it for the upcoming Godavari Pushkaram.

State Irrigation Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu has made it clear that the coalition government is making preparations in this way. On Tuesday, he inspected the project work and progressed at the field level.

On this occasion, a review was held with engineering experts and irrigation officials. Later, he spoke to the media. He said that by completing Polavaram, Godavari waters are going to be provided to both Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema and the state is going to be prosperous.

He said that through this great sacrifice, the state will become a drought-free state. An action plan has been prepared to complete the Polavaram, Rayalaseema and Uttarandhra projects in a systematic manner. Ramanaidu reminded that Chandrababu had suggested that there should be no compromise on the quality of work related to project construction.

He said that the Polavaram works are being carried out as per CWC designs. He said that the work is being carried out following the instructions and standards of the international expert committee. Ramanaidu said that the Polavaram Project Authority will monitor these works on a daily basis.

He said that out of the 1372 meters of the new diaphragm wall, 1300 meters have been completed so far. He said that the entire work will be completed by the end of this month. He said that vibro compaction works have been completed to harden the soil in the ECRF dam construction area.

The minister said that the important right and left canals in the project connection work will be completed by June this year. He said that Chandrababu Naidu has the credit of providing Rs. 700 crore compensation in 2016 regarding the compensation of the displaced people.
