AMARAVATI: State Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh clarified that the state government’s main objective is to successfully conduct the 12-day Godavari Pushkarams, which will commence on June 26, 2027, and conclude on July 7, in a grand manner without causing any inconvenience to the devotees.
On Friday, he held a review meeting with public representatives and district officials at the Rajahmundry Collectorate regarding the arrangements for the Godavari Pushkarams.
He instructed the Police, Revenue, Municipal, Endowments, Tourism, Irrigation, Electricity, R&B, and Panchayat Raj departments to work in coordination for the smooth conduct of the Pushkarams.
The Minister stated that special temple circuits would be established for the convenience of the devotees. He also revealed that Papikondalu tourism would be included as part of the Pushkarams tourism plan.
Considering the rush of millions of devotees, he said that tent cities would be set up with the highest standards, similar to the Kumbh Mela. He said that it has been decided to create awareness among the devotees that the merit obtained from bathing in any ghat along the Godavari river is the same.

that the Akhanda Godavari tourism project works, undertaken with Rs. 97 crore under the Central Government’s Swadesh Darshan scheme, would be completed by the time of the Pushkarams. He stated that there should be clear objectives and an agreed-upon approach.
