BHARTH NEWS DIGITAL: HYDERABAD : Government of Telangana, through the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), has initiated the preparation of a Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP)2050 for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Area (HMA), which shall be an integral part in the proposed Master Plan 2050. The CMP aims to develop a sustainable, long-term transport strategy and identify effective investment programs in line with the National Urban Transport Policy (NUTP) 2006/2014 and other plans of HMDA, GHMC, HMRL, and related stakeholder agencies.
The consultancy firm M/s LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd. has been appointed as the consultant for preparation of the Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) for HMA.
As part of this initiative, a Key Stakeholder Meeting on the Draft Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) Report for Hyderabad Metropolitan Area 2050 was convened on 11th November 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Conference Hall, HMRL Office, Rasoolpura, under the chairmanship of Sri Sarfaraz Ahmed, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA.
Officials from various stakeholder departments participated in the meeting, including representatives from:

Hyderabad Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (H-UMTA)
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)
Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd. (MRDCL)
Hyderabad Growth Corridor Ltd. (HGCL)
Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Ltd. (HRDCL)
Future City Development Authority (FCDA)
Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP)
Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC)

During the meeting, Sri Sarfaraz Ahmed, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA, emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination and directed all stakeholder departments to thoroughly review the Draft Comprehensive Mobility Plan Report and submit their feedback, suggestions, and departmental recommendations for incorporation and updation of the Draft Comprehensive Mobility Plan Report.
The CMP-2050 aims to create an efficient, safe, and sustainable transport network to meet the mobility needs of the growing Hyderabad Metropolitan Region and to guide future investments for balanced urban development.
