Minister Seethakka visited the Telangana State Handloom Cooperative Society (TGSCO) shop in Abids, Hyderabad today. On this occasion, Handlooms and Textiles Department Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer welcomed Minister Seethakka and explained the various sections of the shop.

Minister Seethakka inspected the handloom sarees displayed in the shop and praised their quality, colors, and designs. She then personally purchased several handloom sarees.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Seethakka said that she was very happy to visit the TGSCO shop. She lauded the handloom weavers for making sarees with wonderful designs, using their hard work, skill, and generations of experience. She said that the sarees available here are a symbol of tradition and are also appealing to modern women.
She stated that TGSCO is being invited to set up a small stall at the upcoming “Sammakka-Saralamma” Jathara to sell handloom sarees to devotees. She said that she visited the TGSCO shop in Abids today with this intention.

Minister Seethakka said that she liked the sarees very much, and that the good colors and attractive designs truly give recognition to handloom textiles. She said that by promoting the products of handloom weavers, people would be showing respect for their hard work and dedication. Minister Seethakka appealed to the public to visit handloom emporiums run with a government objective, such as TGSCO, and encourage the handloom weavers by purchasing their products during festivals and auspicious occasions.
