TDP state official spokesperson Patharla Ramesh criticized that Jagan is playing high-drama in the name of collecting crores of signatures, and that it is unbecoming of the YSRCP to criticize the government regarding medical colleges.

He stated that Chandrababu Naidu took steps to make medical education more accessible to the poor by constructing medical colleges under the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model and increasing opportunities for poor students in medical education.

He said that through the PPP model, an additional 220 seats will be available to students from our state, of which 110 medical seats will be available under the government (convener) quota. He said that the construction of the colleges will be completed in two years, and 1750 seats will be available to our students.

He said that under Jagan’s approach, it would take 15 years for the construction of the colleges to be completed. He stated that the private partner will only assist in infrastructure and maintenance, and importantly, 50 percent of the seats will be under the government quota, thereby making medical education accessible to the public.

He said that the reservation policies for SC, ST, BC, and EWS students will continue as before. Ramesh said that admissions through the convener quota will also be conducted in the same way as in government colleges.
