NOTORIOUS TEMPLE THEFT GANG ARRESTED BY
KPHB PS & CCS KUKATPALLY ZONE
STOLEN PROPERTY WORTH OF ₹26 LAKHS
RECOVERED
The sleuths of CCS, Kukatpally zone, with the assistance of
Law & Order Police, KPHB, have successfully busted a notorious
inter-State temple theft gang and recovered stolen gold, silver and
copper ornaments worth approximately ₹26 lakhs in connection with
a burglary at Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, Sardar Patel Nagar,
KPHB Colony.
BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE
On 07-01-2026 at about 0700 hrs, a complaint was received
from Sri Kandula Maruthi, Temple Manager, stating that during the
intervening night of 06/07-01-2026, unknown offenders broke open
the sanctum of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple and committed
theft of gold and silver ornaments belonging to the Temple, within
the limits of KPHB Police Station.
A case was registered in Cr.No.38/2026 U.sec 331(4), 305 R/w
3(5) of BNS and investigation was taken up.
INVESTIGATION HIGHLIGHTS
Under the supervision of senior officers, special teams of CCS
Kukatpally zone, along with L&O KPHB PS, analyzed footage from
over 200 CCTV cameras across possible Entry & escape routes.
Technical surveillance, suspect database verification, and modus
operandi matching led to the identification of the accused persons.

4 Dunnapothula Pawan Kalyan @ Kalyan – Arrested
5 Dandi Anil Teja – Arrested
6 Kambapu Vijay – Arrested
7 Thangila Manikanta Durga Prasad @ Akhil – Arrested
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND
Prime accused Neelapu Neelaiah is a habitual offender involved
in 15 previous property and robbery cases across Medchal,
Shamirpet, Pet-Basheerabad, Genome Valley, and Neredmet Police
Stations and is presently involved in Cr.No. 793/2025 U/s 305 BNS
of Ameenpur PS, Sangareddy District.
Accused Mohith Kumar previously involved in a ganja-related
case.
MODUS OPERANDI & CONSPIRACY
Neelapu Neelaiah @ Anil , Maharaju Mallikarjun , Bashya
Venkat Mohith Kumar , Dunnapothula Pawan Kalyan @ Kalyan
,entered into a criminal conspiracy to commit temple thefts further
they have taken the help of other accused persons Dandi Anil Teja ,
Kambapu Vijay , Thangila Manikanta Durga Prasad @ Akhil who
helped them to dispose of some stolen property.PROPERTY RECOVERY
Stolen gold and silver ornaments and idols worth
approximately ₹26 lakhs were recovered from the
accused.
