
Police have arrested two people for the brutal murder of a cloth merchant in Dwarapudi near Rajahmundry last night over an inter-caste marriage.

AMARAVATI: A bride who had married due to an inter-caste marriage was brutally murdered in Dwarapudi near Rajahmundry Andhra Pradesh, late last night, said Mandapeta Rural Inspector of Police V. Kishore.
According to the information given by the police, the deceased have been identified as
Polupalli Veera Venkata Surya Prakash Rao (41) .
Ainavilli Sandhya, A revienu department Officer Working at Rayavaram mandal (40) and deceased were of the same village. They were classmates and had been in love for some time. The two decided to get married and got married in Annavaram temple yesterday evening, the police said.
Both reached Dwarapudi late last night. Their marriage was not approved by Sandhya’s two brothers. When the deceased and Sandhya were coming from outside on a motorcycle near the house, they stopped them and the two accused together beat the deceased with their hands and feet and threw him down. They hit him in the face with a large stone. His face was completely crushed and he bled and the deceased died on the spot, the police said.
Seeing this incident, some youths of the village reached the spot and tied the two accused to the pillars on the road and informed the police.

After the Mandapeta police , the C I and SI reached the crime scene and arrested the accused and took them to the Mandapet police station. The deceased was taken to the local government hospital for postmortem and the case was registered and investigation was underway, the police said
