Pushkar Ghat, located in the historic city of Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh., will be developed as a spiritual center. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat
said, that more than Rs. 450 crore has been sanctioned for the development of the tourism sector in AP. He said that the Center will contribute to the development of the tourism sector through schemes like Swadeshi Darshan, Prasad, Shaski, Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) and thus make India a tourist destination.

In AP, through the Swadeshi Darshan Scheme, support was provided to Kakinada Hope Island, Koringa Wildlife Sanctuary, Pulicat Lake, Mypadu Beach, Sarykoot in Isukpalli, Salihundam, Bavikonda, and Amaravati as part of the Buddhist Circuit in 2015-17.

He explained that through Swadeshi Darshan 2.0, Araku, Borra Caves, Lambasingi, and Suryalanka Beaches are being developed. They said that they are providing adventure tourism experiences to tourists. They said that they are paving the way for spiritual tourism through the Prasad Scheme..

They said that they are providing better facilities to devotees in the Amaravati and Srisailam temples, and more facilities are being provided to devotees in the Simhachalam Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple.

About Rs. 95 crore has been allocated for the development of the Akhanda Godavari project through the Shaschi (Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment) scheme,

Havelock Bridge will be developed as a multi-functional tourist hub and theme parks will be developed in spans of about 1.2 km. Rajahmundry will be told about history. Bridge Lanka will be developed in 120 acres, and a tent city will be set up along with boating.

As part of the daily Aarti, Godavari Aarti Ghat will be developed as Kadiyam Nurseries and Kadiyapulank as an experience center, and steps will be taken to develop cruise tourism.

Boating will be set up in the Godavari Canal. Initially, the Akhanda Godavari project is going to be developed so that 10-15 lakh tourists visit it annually. He said that steps will be taken to target 35 lakh tourists by 2035.

In addition, it was revealed that lights and sound shows are being set up in Puttaparthi and Arakula, and the cruise and cargo terminal at Vizag Port and Tirupati Railway Station are being modernized.

He said that his goal is to ensure sustainable development of the tourism and hospitality sectors. He assured that a Buddhist circuit and eco-tourism will be established in AP and coastal areas, and that infrastructure will be created in accordance with international standards under the PPP model.

He assured that steps will be taken to recognize Rajahmundry city as a heritage and cultural capital as per the requests of many people, including Minister Kandula Durgesh.

The percentage of tourists worldwide has increased rapidly. Due to their efforts, India has reached 39th place in the World Economic Tourism and Travel Development Index, which was ranked 54th. Their goal is to be one of the top 10 countries. They have set a target of contributing 10 percent to the national GDP through the tourism sector. The Akhanda Godavari project is a good development that will spread the historical glory of Rajamahendravaram, which is the lion’s gate for eastern tourism, to the world.

Principal Secretary of the Tourism Department Ajay Jain thanked the Central Government for sanctioning tourism projects worth more than Rs. 450 crores along with the Akhanda Godavari Tourism Project. He said that the State Government is committed to completing these projects on time.
