AMARAVATI: On the occasion of Ugadi—the revered festival of the Telugu people—the Coalition Government organized grand celebrations for ‘Parabhava Nama Ugadi’ across the entire state of Andhra Pradesh.

In every district, Coalition leaders made special arrangements to conduct the festivities with great pomp and splendor, under the guidance of Vedic scholars. In numerous locations, awards were presented to individuals who have excelled in various fields.

State Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu presided over a magnificent Ugadi celebration held in Amaravati, during which the significance of ‘Parabhava Nama Ugadi’ was expounded upon.Under the guidance of Madugula Nagaphani Sharma, the unique significance of the Ugadi festival was explained to the gathering.

Subsequently, the Ugadi Awards were presented.On the very first day of the Telugu New Year, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu affixed his first official signature to a document prioritizing the welfare of the poor.

On Thursday, the auspicious day of Ugadi, he signed the file pertaining to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The Chief Minister signed the document approving the release of financial assistance amounting to ₹55.63 crores, which is set to benefit 6,787 individuals.

This assistance is expected to provide significant relief to poor families currently facing financial hardships. Over a period of 21 months since the government was formed, direct financial assistance totaling over Rs 1,241 crore has been provided across the state through various channels, including general financial aid, medical assistance, and Letters of Credit (LOCs).

This initiative has benefited 136,240 underprivileged individuals. Specifically, through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, the government extended aid to 15,206 people in 2024 (totaling Rs 184 crore), 103,568 people in 2025 (totaling Rs 889 crore), and—so far in 2026—to 17,466 people (totaling Rs 169 crore), thereby assisting a cumulative total of 136,240 beneficiaries.

Now, continuing this same trend on the occasion of the Telugu New Year, the Chief Minister has signed a file authorizing the release of Rs 55.63 crore, which will benefit another 6,787 individuals. Despite prevailing financial challenges, Chief Minister Chandrababu—keeping the hardships faced by the poor in mind—is taking proactive measures to ensure that there is no shortage of funds to address their medical requirements.

Through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, the financial burdens of underprivileged individuals who have undergone medical treatment are being alleviated. Earlier in the day, at the Camp Office, priests from the TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) and the Durga Temple offered their blessings to Chief Minister Chandrababu on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi.
