AMARAVATI: AP CM Chandrababu Naidu held a press meet today in Undavalli, near Vijayawada. The event focused on the Parliament’s passage of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill 2026, confirming Amaravati as the state’s sole permanent capital.

CM Naidu celebrated the bill as a historic victory for Telugu pride and democracy, crediting 29,000 farmers who donated 33,000 acres of land.

He outlined plans to develop Amaravati into a world-class “Praja Rajadhani,” restoring investor confidence after years of uncertainty.

If the infrastructure is completed, development will happen on autopilot. Different projects in the world have developed on this model.

We will develop the state into a 2.4 trillion dollar economy by 2047. Amaravati will be the driving force for that. We will start all these projects again with Prime Minister Modi in 2029. Amaravati is invincible, eternal, unstoppable. If we try to obstruct this, their efforts will remain as daydreams.

We are working together as a double engine government, the Center and the State.  All the funds due to AP are still coming in. The loss to AP was more during the YSRCP regime than the division. We have gone back 30 years, said Chandrababu.

Naidu criticized YSRCP’s three-capitals policy and Parliament walkout, calling former CM YS Jagan’s “Mavigun” comments ridiculous and misleading.  They  opposing the bill despite representing AP, calling their three-capitals proposal a failed experiment that harmed the state.

The press conference occurred at the CM’s Camp Office in Undavalli, Guntur district, following public celebrations including lamp-lighting across Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu thanked PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and all supporting parties, while praising farmers’ 1,600-day struggle.

The TDP-led government emphasized transparency in fulfilling its Amaravati promise. Currently, there is a war in West Asia. There are problems like gas. The supply chain has been damaged. Prices will increase. How effectively we can deal with such crises is the key. He stated.
