We are setting up tourism circuits in all parts of AP with the aim of developing the tourism sector. We are introducing eco, adventure, wellness and heli tourism in it. The coalition government has not only signed MoUs for tourism projects but also put them into practice.
We have already held regional investor meetings in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati. We have decided to build hotels under the PPP model.
Minister Kandula Durgesh clarified. In response to the questions asked by members of the tourism sector in the Legislative Council on Wednesday, the minister gave a clear explanation with clear answers.Minister Kandula Durgesh clarified that tourism investments worth Rs. 10,644 crores have been signed with 103 institutions in the past 15 months.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, we have brought a new tourism policy for 2024-29.

Following industrial subsidies, we have brought in investments of Rs. 10,644 crores and signed MoUs with 103 companies in 15 months due to reimbursement in capital incentives, power charges, SGST etc.
Similarly, DPRs has been received for 24 proposals worth Rs. 3668 crores. Thus, there is a possibility of creating another 3164 rooms.
As part of the new tourism policy, we have formed a special committee through the Land Allotment Policy. Wherever the Tourism Department has land, we have made those land parcels transparently available on the tourism website. We have provided the opportunity to allocate land parcels to companies that have agreements with big companies, said Durgesh.
With the support of the Central Government, we are undertaking tourism projects like Akhanda Godavari, Gandikota, Suryalanka Beach, Annavaram, Simhachalam, Ahobilam, Annavaram, Nagarjunasagar and other projects with a fund of Rs. 441 crore through various schemes. We are developing the surrounding areas of Godavari near Rajamahendravaram through the Akhanda Godavari project. As part of this, we are modernizing and beautifying the ancient Havelock Bridge.
We have undertaken wonderful adventure tourism development programs near Gandikota, known as the Grand Canyon of India. This is proof of how much attention the state government is paying to the tourism sector, said Durgesh.
We are taking steps to set up 50,000 rooms in the next four years. The alliance aims to make AP a tourist Andhra Pradesh. The tourism sector will provide entertainment to the people and employment opportunities to the youth. Durgesh said.
Minister Durgesh made it clear in the Legislative Council that the previous government did not pay special attention to developing the tourism sector in any of these programs held from 2019-24.
