Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation stood at 19th position in the country and second in the state.
The Collector appealed to the public for their participation in achieving better rankings in the coming days.

Amravati July 17 (Bharat News) AP Rajamhandravaramin East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh has a historical identity. It is mainly the area where the holy Godavari river flows. This city is a green and clean area where you can see sacred historical temples and Vedic scholars reciting the Vedic verses.
After the coalition government came to power, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed that every district in Andhra Pradesh should maintain cleanliness. In response, the MLAs of that constituency
are bringing the local municipality machinery into the field for the cleanliness of the city and are working closely with them to make the city clean.
As part of this, Rajahmundry City TDP MLA Adireddy Srinivas (Vasu) has taken special care of the city’s main and subsidiary streets and drainages every day for the cleanliness and greenery of the city, and the MLA’s efforts in keeping the city clean have won the Swachh Sarvekshan 2024-25 award today.
Rajahmundry City has once again shown its strength in cleanliness. In the Swachh Sarvekshan 2024-25 awards, the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation has been ranked 19th in the country and second in the state in the population category of 3-10 lakhs.
To this end, District Collector P. Prashanthi received the award from the hands of Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at the awards ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday.
District Collector and RMC Commissioner (Full Additional Charge) P. Prashanthi said on this occasion that this award is a key milestone in the development of Rajahmundry city.
He said that all this has been possible due to the innovative measures taken for cleanliness, use of smart technology, door-to-door garbage collection, recycling system, efforts of sanitation staff and participation of citizens.

He expressed hope that the Municipal Corporation will achieve a better rank in the coming days with the cooperation of everyone. The city, which had previously achieved the 54th rank, has improved its ranking.
