The minister said that efforts are being made to get all these pending projects underway during this year when the coalition government comes to power. If all these are completed, the drinking and irrigation water problem of the people of Uttarandhra will be completely solved.
On the orders of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, efforts are being made to get pending projects underway with the aim of providing irrigation and drinking water to the people of Uttarandhra, said State Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu. The minister held a review meeting on Uttarandhra irrigation projects on Thursday.
He said that it was wrong for the previous government to abandon the Vamsadhara Stage-2, Phase-2 and Thotapalli barrage works, which were 90 percent completed. He said that the betrayal done to Uttarandhra by the YSRCP in the past five years is not all.
The Minister reviewed the balance works of Vamsadhara-Nagavali and Nagavali-Champavati connection. He inquired about the current status from the officials. He asked for details on the acceleration of the works of Hiramandalam Lift, Madduvalasa Stage-2, and Janja Vati Reservoir.
He inquired about the obstacles in completing the Andhra Reservoir, Raivada, Peddankalam, Peddagadda, and Vattigedda, which were being completed at a snail’s pace with JICA funds.
He advised the concerned officials and engineers to be ready with comprehensive reports with details of what priority should be given to which works by the time of the Chief Minister’s review.
In what period will they be completed, etc Ramanaidu said that during the period 2014-19, the then Telugu Desam government not only sanctioned many projects for the benefit of Uttar Andhra but also completed most of them. Unfortunately, the YSRCP government that came to power in 2019 left all the work undertaken by the TDP government, Ramanaidu said.

Irrigation Advisor Venkateswara Rao, ENC, Narasimha Murthy, CEOs, SEs of the respective projects and other senior officials participated in this review meeting.
