The government has launched an innovative program in Nellore city with the aim of economically empowering women of Dwakra communities and making them entrepreneurs.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the ‘Smart Street’ set up with state-of-the-art facilities at the Mypadu Gate Center in a virtual manner from his office on Saturday.
As part of this Smart Street, a total of 120 shops have been set up using 30 special containers. Under the ‘One Family – One Entrepreneur’ scheme, all these shops have been completely allocated to women of Dwakra communities.
In these, they have been given the opportunity to run various types of businesses including food stalls and jewelry shops. After the inauguration, Chief Minister Chandrababu spoke directly to the beneficiary women through a video link and inspired them. The women expressed joy on this occasion. They said that they are grateful to the coalition government led by CM Chandrababu Naidu for providing them with such an opportunity.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Narayana said that this smart street has been designed with many special features. Giving priority to environmental protection, he explained that it will use completely solar power here and there will also be a free WiFi facility for the users. He said that there will be continuous monitoring with CCTV cameras for security. The Minister revealed that taking this successful model in Nellore as inspiration, similar smart streets will be set up in other cities of the state.
