A serious incident that led to intense tension occurred in Kovvuru town of East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, in the early hours of Wednesday. This bus goes to Visakhapatnam.
A private travel bus traveling on the Kovvuru flyover Near Godavari Gaman bridge suddenly caught fire and was completely gutted. The incident caused panic in the areas surrounding the flyover, and traffic was disrupted for some time.
A major accident was averted because the driver, who was alerted as soon as the fire broke out, immediately stopped the bus on the side of the road. Following the driver’s instructions, the six passengers and four staff members on the bus quickly disembarked.
The fact that no one was injured in the incident came as a relief to everyone.
Officials estimate that the travel company suffered heavy losses in this fire accident.
According to Kovvuru Fire Officer AVNS Venu, preliminary estimates suggest that property damage of approximately Rs. 80 lakhs may have occurred in this incident. The police have registered a case and started an investigation into the cause of the short circuit.
Such bus accidents occurring during the Sankranthi festival, when people from the Telugu states are traveling to their hometowns, are causing concern among everyone.
