State Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh said that the whole world is following Yoga, which is the heritage and cultural wealth of Indians, and thus there is an opportunity to move towards a comprehensive, peaceful and satisfying lifestyle.
Minister Kandula Durgesh attended the 11th International Yoga Day Celebrations-2025 program held at Tummalapalli Vari Kshetraiya Kalakshetra in Vijayawada, NTR district on Wednesday as the chief guest.
520 people from across the state participated in the competition and 193 winners were awarded prizes. On this occasion, Minister Durgesh specially congratulated the district administration and the winners.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kandula Durgesh suggested that yoga should be a part of everyone’s life. Stating that yoga is India’s heritage and cultural wealth, he said that when he recently went on a tourist trip to Berlin, they recognized the uniqueness of AP in order to attract investors there and discussed the relevant issue with him.
The Minister explained that the Europeans had suggested to him to develop yoga and wellness centers in Andhra Pradesh, which has a 974 km long coastline. He said that yoga has a special place in the world. He suggested that yoga should be an integral part of life if the future is to be good. He said that yoga can help achieve complete health and grow in all fields.
He said that yoga is a good practice to protect oneself from the current modern lifestyle and for a healthy life. He said that through the programs they are undertaking, they are encouraging people to practice yoga throughout their lives. He said that the state government is organizing Yoga Andhra-2025 with great splendor to celebrate International Yoga Day and make it go down in history.

The program was attended by the Minister of Health, District In-charge Minister Satyakumar Yadav, Director of Secondary Health Dr. A.Siri, AYUSH Director Dinesh Kumar, NTR District Collector Dr.G. Lakshmi, and other district officials participated.
