In Irusumanda village, Malikipuram mandal, Ambedkar Konaseema district, Andhra Pradesh, massive flames are erupting this morning due to an ONGC gas leak.
Right now around 500 coconut trees burnt due to the massive flames caused by the gas leak incident.Officials are evacuating people within a 5 km radius.
Gas leak at ONGC drill site… panic among locals Gas leaked from the ONGC drill site. Gas has been spewing out for about 2 hours in Irusumanda, Malikipuram mandal. ONGC senior officials and technical experts have arrived and started relief operations.
The Collector has been instructed to take measures to ensure that local people do not face any problems and to shift them to nearby safe areas.
The Collector stated that he has spoken to the ONGC company representatives and instructed them to bring the fire under control with the help of technical experts. Revenue officials clarified that locals should take precautions to avoid inhaling the gas and that masks should be distributed to the public.
ONGC gas leakage, huge flames erupting due to the gas leak. District Collector Dr. R. Mahesh Kumar arrived at the scene of the incident. The District Collector inspected the accident site and reviewed the situation with the officials.
He issued orders to the officials regarding safety measures and advised the public to be vigilant. He ordered that relief efforts be expedited.
