Of the 12 lakh complaints received in the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) in the last 18 months, nearly 7 lakh were related to revenue and land matters. TDP state president Palla Srinivas Rao said this is a “clear indication” of deep-rooted structural flaws in land administration
Palla Srinivas Rao participated in a meeting of the Petitions Committee on Comprehensive Land Survey held at the Visakhapatnam Collectorate, chaired by Deputy Speaker Raghu Rama Krishna Raju. Srinivas urged the authorities to urgently respond to the land-related difficulties being faced by the administration and the citizens of the state for months.
Srinivas pointed out recurring irregularities such as incorrect survey numbers, incorrect or missing names in official records, failure to update registration records after removal of lands from Section 22(A), technical discrepancies in webland data, changes in survey numbers during the re-survey process and prolonged delay in issuing passbooks. He said these issues were fuelling “discontent and confusion among the people”.
There was a need to set up an automatic data-synchronisation system in the registration, revenue and survey departments. Field verification at the village level, systematic review of inheritance records and timely issuance of pattadar passbooks have become top priorities in the administration.
Srinivasa Rao highlighted that the recent progress of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant was possible due to the “visionary and decisive” leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Srinivas alleged that the YSRCP and CITU leaders, without looking at the facts, only choose lies that serve their political interests.
Srinivas said that he had appealed to the Union Ministry of Steel and Heavy Industries to restore the grant-in-aid provided to Vimal Vidyalaya under the jurisdiction of the steel plant. He said that the Union Minister responded immediately and assured that the government had no objection to the proposal and that it would be officially approved after the final approval of the VSP management.

The meeting was attended by MLAs Vishnu Kumar Raju and APLA Secretary Konatala Ramakrishna, senior IAS officers and members of the Revenue Department.
