Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has reached Singapore. The CM will be on a five-day visit to Singapore from today. The CM, who arrived in Singapore, was given a grand welcome by local Telugu people, industrialists, NRIs and APNRT representatives.

Women from Telugu families in traditional attire came to welcome the CM. They performed aarthu. Children welcomed him with Kuchipudi dances. In the backdrop of the CM’s visit, there was a buzz of Telugu families in the hotel premises where he is staying. As part of his visit to Singapore, he will participate in a total of 29 programs. The Chief Minister, Ministers Nara Lokesh, P. Narayana and TG Bharat will attend the Telugu Diaspora meeting this afternoon.

Global urban infrastructure company Surbana Jurong has made it clear that it is interested in investing in AP. A representative of the company met with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is visiting Singapore, CM Surbana invited the company to come forward to undertake large-scale housing construction in the state. The CM suggested that it be a part of the Housing for All project in AP.

The Chief Minister explained to the representatives of the company that they have mainly focused on infrastructure projects in Andhra Pradesh. CM Chandrababu said that a total of 20 ports and 15 airports are coming up in the state. AP will become a logistics hub. He presented the government’s ideas to develop these areas as industrial townships.

Tan Sri A. K. Nathan, Chairman and Managing Director of Eversendai Corporation Bhd., a leading construction company from Malaysia, met the Chief Minister.

The two discussed the issue of setting up a state-of-the-art fabrication factory and an integrated training center in Andhra Pradesh. The Eversendai chairman explained that the idea of setting up this fabrication factory in Visakhapatnam or Krishnapatnam is being considered. Eversendai has proposed to set up this fabrication unit in an area of about 2 lakh square meters.

Eversendai is planning to set up this new factory in a strategically important area and to enable transportation of fabrication equipment across the country. The proposed investment is likely to bring growth in industries and job opportunities to the state on a large scale.

Eversendai also expressed interest in participating in infrastructure projects in the construction of the capital city of Amaravati. The Eversendai chairman also discussed with the Chief Minister the establishment of a structural engineering training center in collaboration with institutions like IIT Tirupati and IIIT Sri City in the state.  Eversendai explained that it has previously been involved in the fabrication of the Burj Khalifa, Petronas Towers, DLF Downtown Taramani project in Chennai, and the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, including the work.
