The surface depression over the northeast Bay of Bengal and the adjacent Myanmar coast has extended at an altitude of 5.8 km above sea level, said MD Prakhar Jain of the Disaster Management Agency.  Due to this, a low pressure is likely to form in the north Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.

He said that there is a possibility of gusty winds along the coast with a speed of 40-50 km. Fishermen have been advised not to go fishing in the sea.

He said that heavy rains are likely to occur at places in Vizianagaram, Alluri Seetharamaraju, Visakhapatnam and Anakapalle districts tomorrow.
He said that moderate to heavy rains are likely in Srikakulam, Parvathipurammanyam, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru and NTR districts.

He said that light to moderate rains are likely at some places in Krishna, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu and Prakasam districts.

As of 5 pm on Monday, 76.7 mm of rainfall was recorded in Gurla in Vizianagaram district, 65.5 mm in Laveru in Srikakulam district, 63.7 mm in Jiyammavalasa in Manyam district,

61.5 mm in Peddanadipalli in Vizianagaram, and 60 mm in Narasingapalli in Anakapalle district, Prakash Jain revealed.

He said that the flood water level of Godavari at Bhadrachalam was 44.4 feet at 5 pm. The first warning will continue with the inflow and outflow at Dhavaleswaram Cotton Barrage at 11.91 lakh cusecs. The inflow and outflow at Prakasam Barrage on the Krishna River at 5 pm is 3.42 lakh cusecs, and the flood flow is likely to reach almost the first warning level.

It is said that no attempt should be made to cross the overflowing rivers, streams and canals until the flood flow of the Krishna and Godavari rivers subsides completely.
