In the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Memorial National Level Kung Fu and Karate Championship 2025 held in Chilakaluripet on the 14th of this month, Tejavir, the grandson of prominent journalist Chaladi Poornachandra Rao from Machilipatnam, who had won two silver medals in an international competition organized by the World Association of Kickboxing India (WAKO) in New Delhi last year, emerged as a winner at the international level.

Tejavir won a gold medal in the Kata event at the national level in the under-12 years, under the 25kg weight . Tejavir, who is 9 years old, is currently studying in the fourth grade at Vivekananda Vidya Mandir in Seethanagaram, Amaravati.

From the age of five, he has been practicing and learning the techniques of Karate at the Shalom Monks Kung Fu Academy of India in Tadepalli.

On this occasion, Tejavir said today that with the encouragement of his parents, his academy guru, and coach, he participated for the first time and achieved his first victory. 

This boy has the ambition to excel not only in his studies but also in Kung Fu, Karate, and other martial arts, and aims to participate in national and international competitions to bring more fame and recognition to his state and country.

A large number of young athletes from Andhra Pradesh, as well as from Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Odisha, and other states, participated in the event. The boy’s father, Satish, is a renowned athlete who previously won two silver medals in international competitions.
