AMARAVATI: Celebrations are in full swing in Gajuwaka after the Lok Sabha approved the Amaravati Legal Status Bill. TDP State President and MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao led the celebrations. A large number of party leaders and workers present celebrated the occasion with great enthusiasm by cutting cakes, bursting firecrackers and raising slogans that made the entire area ring.

Speaking on the occasion,  the approval of the bill as a historic milestone that fulfilled the aspirations of five crore people of Andhra Pradesh. He stressed that this development is beyond just an administrative decision regarding the capital, it is about restoring the self-respect of the Telugu people.

He said that this victory was possible due to the sacrifices of the farmers and the continuous and peaceful struggle of the people.

He  strongly criticised the previous YSRCP government, alleging that it had neglected Amaravati and had thrown the state into uncertainty with the proposal of three capitals.

He alleged that the ambiguity surrounding the capital issue had hampered development and misled the people. He said that now that the Centre has clearly recognised Amaravati as the legal capital, all remaining doubts have been removed.

He  said that the status of Amaravati is now irrevocable and it will stand as a definite identity for the state. He warned the people not to fall prey to misinformation. He asked them not to pay heed to the stories being propagated by what he described as anti-development forces.

He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for facilitating the passage of the bill. He credited the resolve of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the coalition government for making this development possible.

That the large participation of TDP workers, with public  in the Gajuwaka celebrations reflects the unwavering faith of the people in Amaravati and reiterates that Amaravati is at the heart of the future of the state. srinivas rao stated.
