Amravati: The Chief Minister reiterated that Andhra Pradesh is at the forefront of the implementation of the National Quantum Mission and Amaravati will emerge as a future-ready world-class innovation hub. He urged all stakeholders to cooperate in building a self-reliant quantum ecosystem, reducing dependence on imports and making India a global leader in quantum technology.

With the launch of the first quantum computer on April 14, Amaravati is set to emerge as India’s first quantum computing hub. With this, Andhra Pradesh will be at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu opined. He said that the Amaravati Quantum Computing Valley will set a new direction for the country in the technological revolution.
Addressing a roundtable meeting on Quantum Hardware Manufacturing Ecosystem held at the Secretariat today, the Chief Minister stressed the need to develop an indigenous quantum hardware manufacturing ecosystem within the next two years.
Key stakeholders including representatives from National Quantum Mission, IBM, CDAC, CDOT, DRDO, Naval Science & Technological Laboratory, BARC, along with industry, academics from IIT Tirupati and IIT Madras (with virtual participation) attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister outlined a comprehensive action plan for the development of quantum computing hardware, components and algorithms in the state. He stressed on building a robust ecosystem that encompasses cryogenics, photonics, and power electronics sectors.
Startups, innovations and research collaborations should be encouraged to promote “Made in Amaravati” quantum products. The aim is to make Andhra Pradesh one of the top 5 quantum hubs in the world by 2030.The proposed Amaravati Quantum Valley will have advanced infrastructure including 8 towers dedicated to quantum computing, research, innovation and startups.

The state government has already signed MoUs with 15 companies and 7 companies have already started operations at Medha Towers in Vijayawada. The companies have expressed their readiness to provide technologies like quantum simulators, biosensors and mineral sensors, laser-based applications.
