Cyclone ‘Ditva’ is moving slowly north-northwestwards in the southwest Bay of Bengal, adjacent to the Sri Lankan coast, said Prakhar Jain, Managing Director of the Disaster Management Authority. At present, it is centered 410 km from Puducherry and 510 km from Chennai. It was revealed that the cyclone moved at a speed of 3 km in the last 6 hours. It is said that there is a possibility of reaching the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south coastal Andhra Pradesh by the early hours of the morning. Fishermen have been warned not to go into the sea till Tuesday.

Due to this, heavy rains and very heavy rains will occur in the south coast and Rayalaseema region tomorrow. The authorities of Prakasam, Nellore, Sri Sathya Sai, Kadapa, Annamaya, Chittoor and Tirupati districts, which are likely to be affected by the cyclone ‘Ditva’, have been alerted. NDRF and SDRF teams have been kept ready for relief operations, said Prakhar Jain.

People should not stand under trees as strong gusty winds of 50-70 kmph are expected along the south coast. He appealed to people to contact the toll-free numbers of the Disaster Management Authority 1070, 112, 18004250101 for emergency assistance. People should be alert and farmers should take appropriate precautions.

Saturday (29-11-2025):
Heavy rains at places in Chittoor and Tirupati districts; Moderate to heavy rains at places in Prakasam, Nellore, Kadapa and Annamayya districts.
Light to moderate rains are likely in Bapatla, Palnadu, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts.

Sunday (30-11-2025)
Heavy to very heavy rains are likely in Prakasam, Nellore, Kadapa, Annamayya, Chittoor and Tirupati districts.
Disaster Management Agency MD Prakhar Jain said that moderate to heavy rains are likely in Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur and Sathya Sai districts.
