Being a bridge to culture.. passing on their skills to another generation.. the loom is a testament to the hopes, dreams, tears and talents of those who have been weaving their lives for generations. It has become a mess.

The Andhra Pradesh government has taken key decisions to bring smiles to the faces of handloom workers and to fill new lights in their lives.

On the occasion of National Handloom Day.. realizing the long-standing dream of the weavers and giving due respect to their hard work, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu  has remained in the hearts of the weavers.

From now on.. up to 200 units of free electricity will be provided to looms and up to 500 units of power looms. Moreover, the state government will fully bear the burden of GST on handloom fabrics.

Due to these historic decisions, handloom products will be available at lower prices and sales will increase. Weavers will get more income and their living standards will improve.

A special fund (thrift fund) of Rs. 5 crore will ensure security in the lives of weavers.

This is not just a financial decision, but recognition and respect for the art of handloom for generations. With these wonderful decisions, a new chapter has begun in the lives of weavers. Our handloom products have already won 10 national awards and brought fame to our state. Now with the encouragement of this government, our handloom art will shine even more.

These decisions will come into effect from the National Handloom Day on the 7th of this month.

This auspicious occasion, which is full of joy on the faces of weavers, can be considered a great reward for their hardships. Handloom, which is the most important sector after agriculture, has now received the support of the real moon.

The loom is our culture – the light of the lives of handloom weavers is our moon(Chandrababu) The weavers’ families celebrated.
