Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has stressed that fostering innovation and empowering the youth to achieve their aspirations are the core of skill development programmes.
The Chief Minister, who reviewed the Skill Portal at the Secretariat today, directed the officials to benchmark global best practices and institutions to build a comprehensive and futuristic skill framework for the youth. He directed the state to collaborate with internationally renowned institutions for skill assessment, accreditation and training, as well as promote new-age workplaces and strengthen GCC activities.
He suggested that the Skill Portal be launched soon and promoted before investors at the CII Partnership Summit to be held in Visakhapatnam.
Officials explained that the Skill Portal is the first-ever, AI-powered platform that integrates multiple central, state and institutional databases to create a unified interface for skill development and employment.
The portal will enable candidates to create AI-assisted resumes, register for skill courses, take real-time skill assessments and access job opportunities. It will seamlessly integrate with nationally integrated services, providing a one-stop solution for youth skilling, documentation and employment.
The Chief Minister said that the portal will provide on-demand skilling, upskilling and re-skilling opportunities to meet the evolving industry needs.
A unique feature of the portal is the AI Interview Simulator, which conducts mock interviews and provides automatic feedback to candidates to enhance job readiness. The Ask Vidya chatbot will guide users through training opportunities, jobs and platform navigation. The Chief Minister directed that the portal, which is currently available in Telugu and English, be expanded to include multiple languages. He said that a job fair is being organised in every constituency every month and so far 1,44,000 people have been employed through these fairs.
The Chief Minister called for a strong innovation ecosystem starting at the school level, especially encouraging students from class 8 and above to engage with new ideas and technologies. He stressed on the need to create an institutional framework to assess and improve the skill set of each constituency, identify core local skills and create targeted programmes for continuous, blended (online and offline) skilling.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to consolidate efforts through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. He said that school children should be encouraged to innovate through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. He directed the officials to regularly upgrade the curriculum to keep pace with global industry needs and technological advancements.

Minister Nara Lokesh, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand and senior officials of the Skill Development and Training Department participated in the review meeting.
