Despite it not being within her jurisdiction and without being ordered by her superiors, a female police officer, Jayashanthi, keeping her duty in mind, carried a two-year-old child on her shoulder and cleared a massive traffic jam that had formed on the Kakinada National Highway during the Sankranthi festival. 

She received government recognition and was specially honored today by the Andhra Pradesh Home Minister in a traditional Hindu values,   where she was also presented with new clothes. She is working at the Rangampeta Police Station near Rajahmundry.

Constable Jayashanthi met with Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita on Thursday. from Rangampeta, recently managed traffic while carrying her child, even though she was not on duty.

Upon learning of the incident, Minister Anita called her two days ago and congratulated her.  Following this, the constable had breakfast with the Home Minister.

The Minister inquired about her family’s well-being and had a friendly conversation with Jayashanthi’s children.

On this occasion, Minister Anita honored Constable Jayashanthi and her family members. She expressed her happiness at meeting the Minister.
