Five people including four members of a family died in a road accident that took place in Kotekal village of Yemmiganur mandal in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

Police said that the deceased have been identified as residents of Chikkahosahalli village in Kolar district of Karnataka. They were going to Mantralaya in a Swift Dzire car when it collided with a Fortuner car coming from Yemmiganur to Kurnool.

The accident took place in the accident. Satish (34), his wife Meenakshi (32), their sons Banit (5), Rithvik (4) and Enkatesh (76) died in the accident.

The driver of the Swift Dzire, Chetan, and another woman, Gangamma, were seriously injured and were admitted to the Adoni Area Hospital. MLA Jaya Nijeswara Reddy and Additional SP Hussain Peera visited the accident site.

The bodies were shifted to GGH for postmortem. Police said that both the vehicles were travelling at high speed at the time of the accident.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief minister K.Pawan Kalyan expressed grief and shock over the death of five people in this road accident.

He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He directed the officials to provide the best medical treatment to the injured. He directed the SP and IGP to reach the accident site .
